Today we are going to hear from another fellow Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space Romance authors, Michelle Howard. She’s sharing with us what her motivation was for writing her story, Wired for Love.
Michelle and I share a common denominator here in that we both love animals and yet never thought to feature one in our books. I’m happy to say we’ve both solved that problem.
What motivated you writing Wired for Love in Embrace the Romance?
Wired for Love, my Pets in Space story is the first book I’ve written with a pet/animal as a central figure and character in the book. I was surprised. I love animals and it seemed like a no-brainer that at least one of my characters would have a pet, right? I couldn’t find one and the very thought fueled me writing this story. I loved how I was able to have the heroine and hero engage with the K9 I created. I loved that he had a role in the plot and wasn’t just there for show.
After finishing this, I’m now more excited about giving my future characters’ pets if possible. It’s even better that my genre is sci-fi romance because that means I can get quite creative. ((insert evil laugh))
Wired for Love Excerpt
Hunter took a step forward, negating the attempt at distance. “One night.”
Narelle’s heart pounded. Licking her lips, she repeated his words “One night? For what?”
Pinning her to the wall with his body, his rough palm cupped her cheek. “It ends now. No more games. You know what I want in exchange.”
Shivers worked their way through her body. Tendrils of desire awakened and coiled around her lower half. She tried to speak and had to clear her throat twice. “Are you really so desperate you’d bargain for a night to get me in bed?”
“Yes.” Simple and ruthless. No remorse in the blunt tone he used. “You have no idea how desperate I am to crawl between your thighs and see if you’re as hot on the inside as you are on the outside.”
“Pathetic, Hunter. You’re pathetic.” But her voice thickened. “What makes you think I want to sleep with you?”
His lips twitched. “Oh, we wouldn’t be sleeping.”
About the Author
Michelle Howard like many authors dreamed of writing since reading her first romance novel many years ago. She loves paranormal and contemporary romances and is a fan of the classic romances by Judith McNaught and Julie Garwood.
